POKE? OKAY!

Poki, pokeh, poh-kay.   It doesn’t matter how you choose to pronounce the word, it all means the same thing; flavor packed, must-try fish dish when visiting Hawaii. I am sorry to be a poke snob, but you’ve never really had real poke unless it was in Hawaii.   It is always a joke in Hawaii that someone is going to get mercury poisoning eventually because of all the raw fish that we eat. One of the first questions that people ask when they hear that someone is from Hawaii is where is the best place to get poke at.   I have ranked the most popular places in my opinion, with some input from a few experts, so this can be your one stop shop when deciding where to eat the next time you’re in Hawaii. But First! Where did poke come from? To tell you the truth, the history of poke is not a very exciting one.   Poke was prepared by native Polynesians way before Western travelers landed on the Hawaiian Islands and it was originally a basic meal for Hawaiians (Cheng)...

Final Thoughts on Growing a Farmer
